Pulse Check Tool to Support PH&S Consultation & Planning

Mental Health and Psychological Safety Consultants support organizations with the navigation and implementation of mental health resources. They share best practices and offer proactive tools and strategies to promote psychological health and safety in the workplace. It’s a free service offered in partnership with go2HR.

To help you prepare for an initial conversation with one of our Mental Health & Psychological Safety Consultants, we’ve developed a short checklist to guide you in creating a preliminary needs analysis for your workplace. This tool will help you review your current efforts to support psychological health & safety and identify areas for action planning with one of our consultants. The key is to start small and focus on areas that will have the most significant impact on your workplace and employees’ mental well-being.

The topics covered in this pulse check align with the national and ISO standards for psychological health and safety, as well as WorkSafeBC’s Framework for Success. You can learn more about these standards here (insert link to recording from webinar) (or insert link to article about WSBC’s framework).

Key areas addressed in the Pulse Check include:

  • Existing policies and procedures that support psychological safety
  • Current programs and training in place
  • Six categories contributing to a psychologically safe workplace (with areas to benchmark and measure over time)
  • Indicators of success when psychological health and safety measures are in place
