Workplace conflicts are inevitable, when people with diverse experiences, communication styles, and expectations come together to pursue shared goals, tension is bound to arise. These conflicts may show up as disagreements, misunderstandings, or open disputes, and if left unaddressed, they can escalate and negatively impact team culture and performance.

In this three-hour interactive and hands-on workshop, you’ll explore the underlying causes of workplace conflict and learn how to manage them using a psychological health and safety framework. Through real-life scenarios, guided activities, and breakout room discussions, you’ll gain practical tools for addressing conflict early, effectively, and with a trauma-informed lens. Through reflection exercises you will build personalized strategies that support healthier, more resilient teams.

Designed for team leaders, HR professionals, managers, and anyone looking to improve their conflict management skills, this workshop blends insight with action to help you feel more confident navigating workplace challenges.

What You’ll Learn:
Identify key drivers of workplace conflict and recognize early warning signs in real-world scenarios
Explain how psychological health and safety principles contribute to effective conflict resolution
Analyze the role of trauma-informed approaches in managing interpersonal workplace challenges

Our presenter

Geoff Moffett is a Workplace Mental Health Facilitator with the Canadian Mental Health Association, BC Division. He is dedicated to eliminating the stigma surrounding mental health, recognizing it as an essential aspect of everyone’s well-being.

Geoff’s professional journey has spanned various sectors, where he has witnessed firsthand the critical role of mental wellness in achieving success. He has held multiple positions working with traditionally marginalized populations, and has experience within government, non-profit, unionized, and private industries. Drawing from his own lived experience, Geoff fosters a supportive environment for open discussions on mental health.

In addition to his work in mental health, Geoff is an award-winning basketball coach with over 20 years of coaching experience at both the high school and community levels. He also runs a youth basketball program in Victoria, further demonstrating his commitment to community engagement and development.
