Learning Circles: Indigenous Cultural Safety and Psychological Workplace Safety

Learning Circles: Indigenous Cultural Safety and Psychological Workplace Safety is part of a video series exploring Indigenous perspectives on psychological health and safety in the workplace.

Created to support employers and workers across BC’s tourism and hospitality industry, this series is a partnership between Len Pierre Consulting, go2HR, and the Canadian Mental Health Association (CMHA).

In this session, we explore feedback as a tool for Indigenous cultural safety and psychological safety in the workplace. Rather than competing priorities, this Learning Circle highlights how cultural safety and psychological safety work together to create safer, more inclusive, and more respectful work environments.

Topics explored include:

  • What psychological safety looks like in everyday workplace settings
  • Why feeling safe to speak up is essential to preventing harm
  • How psychological safety supports addressing racism and discrimination
  • The overlap between cultural safety and psychological safety
  • How feedback can strengthen trust, advocacy, and belonging This session invites employers and employees to reflect on shared responsibility for workplace safety and the role feedback plays in supporting healthier teams.
