The arts and entertainment industry can be exciting and fast-paced, and many people are drawn to work in such invigorating, collaborative, rigorous, and expressive environments where two days rarely look the same.
Along with this excitement can sometimes come a sense of pressure, whether to stay on budget, catch up when you feel behind, adapt when the day pivots, or create artistic magic under a deadline.
The ability to be resilient to such pressure can be trained through mind-body practices and positive psychology tools.
This webinar will get people connected to their body and their breath so they can get back into a state of calm and ease. Specific tools and short practices will be offered in an accessible way, leaving participants with clear insight and skills that they can implement immediately in their workplaces.
When we all show up from a mindful place, we have the opportunity to build a healthier, more collaborative work environment.
Objectives/Outcomes:
- Build awareness of the body: identify “what is”, name sensations, and feel without changing or judging, which encourages slowing down.
- Connect with the breath: control the breath so it doesn’t control you, leading to mindful presence of being.
- Reclaim calm: allow the space between stimulus and response. When we connect to our sensation and breath, we have the opportunity to regroup and navigate situations with calm and ease.
The webinar will explore six simple tools/practices that offer a way into a calm state of being. All six tools can be done with minimal effort, on the job, and are most effective when used habitually.
