Safety Talk: Substance Use

Our Safety Talk series of videos and info sheets are intended to support conversations with your coworkers. They were developed for those who work in tourism and hospitality, in partnership with go2HR.

Working in the tourism and hospitality industry often means long hours, fast-paced shifts, and interacting with a wide variety of people.

It’s natural to need a way to unwind after a demanding day.

For many, enjoying substances with friends after a shift can be a way to relax and connect with coworkers.

It’s important to recognize when substance use crosses into misuse, and to find alternative ways to manage stress and recharge.
